York Barbell is a major international manufacturer of fitness.
It is located in York, Pennsylvania and was founded by Bob Hoffman,
owner of the York Oil Burner Company, in 1932, after he had bought
out the Milo Barbell Company of Philadelphia.

Wayne Robert Hoffman (December 13, 1917 - April 13, 2005) was an American
football running back in the NFL for the WASHINGTON REDSKINS and Los Angeles Rams.
Hoffman also played in the All-America Football Conference for the Los Angeles Dons.
He played college football for the University of Southern California.
