Snohomish River with Cascade Mts. in the distance.

I spotted this heron sitting here many times over the past 2 years. I
have yet to see him this year. I think he's gone and that makes me sad!

If this river floods in the right/wrong place, I have lakefront property!
Our house is high and dry but some of the local roads get flooded. Thankfully,
it hasn't flooded in a few years (at least not close to me).

beautiful shot. I have pictures of this same heron in Charleston. I wonder how he moves back and forth between the coasts. would love to see photos of your house on the lake. are they posted?

I love this shot. Subjects and composition are tight and artful. Herons and Egrets can look so vexed. Pretty much, what my neighbors see when I walk out to my deck ;-) The light on those coupled pilings and chain is divine. g
