Bodega Bay Boat

This is the sailboat "Happy" listing starboard in
the mud flats of Bodega Bay. It has been mired
here since approximately Oct. of 2007.

The sailboat was abondoned by it's owner who had
fallen behind in mooring fees and had been evicted.

The story goes that the owner tried to move the boat
but the Coast Guard intercepted him saying the boat
was not seaworthy. He anchored it in the channel. A
storm blew in, dislodged the boat and pushed it in
to the mud flats. And here it sits...........

Great!!! Love the position of the boat, and the calm cold hues! V

There was an Alfred Hitchcock movie, The Birds, with a great line: "Not much happens in Bodega Bay." (paraphrased quote) to create a sense of false calm with no expectations. A sailing boat (yawl?) dying of boredom in plain sight is pure proof I suppose ;-) Can you imagine a boat of that size surviving two years-out anywhere else you've been??!? Beautifully captured image as the other victims of Pbase have said previously (can we all get a big hug now?). Exemplary 'rule-of-thirds' composition - g
