Not only can I learn to photograph birds in my backyard, I can also do so in the parking lot at work. An even greater learning curve, though. I'm glad that I'm there at magic hour every day, but I have to figure out A) how to get closer, and B) How to get closer with a tripod. The ongoing drama in the parking lot is that the red-shouldered hawks live in the area, and the red-tail showed up recently in their territory. So every day they try to chase him away. While I was watching this, the usual assortment of gulls, turkey vultures, and yes, even cats, wandered into the little area above our parking lot.
