Andrew came to see me! We've been having fun. Andrew loves Colorado but misses his daddy.
On Saturday Dec 31, we drove to Colorado Springs, visited Garden of the Gods and took the Pikes Peak Cog Railway to the summit of Pikes Peak, at 14,110 ft. We all felt a little drunk when we reached the top! One poor woman on the train got sick when we reached the Summit House. Poor Mom didn't think she'd make it off the train, but she did! We kept Andrew on the train though because it was COLD and very windy. The views were great though, and well worth it! You could see to Kansas in the east (although that was pretty boring of course) and to the west were mountains mountains mountains. Looking southwest, you could see into New Mexico. At the Summit House, they make world-famous doughnuts... I tried one, they weren't that great! In 1893, Katherine Lee Bates wrote the Poem America the Beautiful after a trip to the summit, and there's a monument there.
On Sunday, Jan 1, we went to the Butterfly Pavilion (AGAIN!) and to Boulder where we had brunch at the Dushanbe Teahouse, walked the Pearl St Mall, took Andrew to Build-A-Bear where he bought a koala bear with a Broncos jersey for his CO souvenir, and had dinner at Canyon Cafe.
