On March 28, 2001, the Athens new International Airport began its operation, and its cold, typical German architecture replaced the third-world image of the old airport. Some of its elements also signified the end of innocence, but still, the emotions of the leaving passenger or of the awaiting beloved person will always remain unchanged.
