This is one great zoo. I understand that the zoo was spared the flooding and most of the wind damage from Katrina, thanks in part to the courage and dedication of the curator and other staff who moved animals, made other preparations, and actually rode out the storm with their precious charges. Would that others had done the same for many of the human residents of the city. (Sorry for the soapbox.)
