I saw this humongous mushroom under a tree near my house; the thing was almost a foot across! I took a bunch of photos of it, but this is actually my favorite -- and it was my very first shot. Basically, I just set my camera on the ground about a foot away from the 'shroom, pointed it, and let the autofocus, autoexposure of my D70 do its stuff. I just happened to the the zoom lens opened up pretty wide, thus the interesting perspective.

PS - Minor crop to 8x10. Frame. That's it -- didn't even sharpen.
