On a recent location shoot, I searched my bag for the right combination of cable and adapter that would permit me to fire an off-camera flash remotely. I had to do so much jury-rigging that I came home, got online and ordered pretty much every variation of flash adapter I could find, plus a few additional PC cables. Now I have to sort through the damn things, determine what combinations of flash, adapter, cable, camera I might need and make sure I know how to rig each one. As is probably obvious, I shot this by window light and probably should have used one of the adapters to provide some off-camera fill flash. (As my granddad might have said, "He who dies with the most gear/toys/gadgets wins.")
