We haven’t spoken it quite some time. I do think of you every now and then but I never seem to pick up the phone. I have been keeping an eye on the My View, and it seems like things have really taken off for you guys. Sounds like a really cool product. Are you still traveling like a mad man?
I have not been working for the past couple (more than a couple, 5) years and have recently decided to take a stab at the job market. Things are pretty bleak out there. I did hook a line at Ocean Spray in Lakeville. The job would be with the Ingredient Technology Group responsible for EMEA marketing of all things the craisin internationally. The job would be a little step back but certainly has major room for growth. Who would have ever expected that a couple of cranberry farmers could pull off a company that rakes in (pardon the pun) $2.1 billion a year?!?! And all that with a corporate office of less than 500 people? I am very excited to have been chosen as one of four final candidates and hope that next week proves to be positive. The job is for a Business Development Analyst and reports to the Sr manager of International Business Development (a Brit).
In anticipation of a positive interview next week I would like to ask if you would be willing to be a reference for me? I am sure you can think of a couple of nice things to say. Their key hot points seem to be:
• Need for someone who understands how to get internal organizations to move to the beat of the sales. i.e. get the scientists and engineers to move it move it, the accountants to count the beans a little quicker and the lawyers to speed read
• Someone with a sales focus (hello)
• Forecast proficionado
• Consultative sales
• No supervision required
