Your images are absolutely amazing. They bring back fond memories of when I lived in Korea. You have a great eye and incredible composition!

I lived on the Rock in the '60s. Attended Sukiran and Kadena elementary schools. Fond memories of rock candy, John Chapman - teacher, but most of all the absolute freedom to roam the island.

I knew Ellie, Betty Havira, Betty Lanuza! They were a couple years older than me but they let me hang with them! Lived in Oyama beneath MCAS Futemna. I think we were there 1960 to 1964.

I also lived in Machina to in 1957. Lived right across from the commissary and playground. The house number was 1523.

Hi Dave
I was looking at your pictures. Great pictures of Korea and other places.
How is Korea these days. Myong and Heidi visited Korea in April 2011. Mostly
in the Inchon area, also a few (3) days in Songtan.

I have a 1000 pyenen note from 1919. I have had it for about 30 years but never known anything about it. All the writing is in a foreign style. Do you know where it is from and its current value (if any!). Many thanks.

Hi David

I came here a second time, and I'm glad I did - I took the time to look at many of your photos - and you have, without doubt, the best collection of photos from Korea.

It's a pity that although I go to Korea nearly every year (my parents are there), I only get to see it in mid-winter, where colours are very difficult to find. So thank you for filling me in on what it's like to be there during spring, summer and autumn.

Keep up the great work

Susan Kim01-Jan-2006 12:42

Hi David

You did a great work taking images of Korea. I enjoyed it so much. I've bookmarked your gallery & hope to see more wonderful work of yours :)

Dable Kwan 21-Sep-2004 06:17
Hello David,
My name is Dable. I'm Bernard Tse's friend and know your gallery through him. He told me about your excellent work. First I doubt .... wooo.... but after viewing all your galleries, AMAZING!!! Are you a full time photographer? If you're just an amateur, just envy on all your sensitive and inspiration. Inborn talent is of course important but is there anyway to train up this? I think you're especially good in "colour" and also "the composition of a photo". Hope to see your new work soon!!
Dable :)

Thank you
It is not a temple
It is the Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall
There are two halls inside
One is National Concert Hall and the other is National Theater Hall
I took them during Tapei Lantern Festival
During the period of the time, they looked so beatiful
If you have time, I suggest visit the hall during the Taipei Lantern Festival

I don't know how often you check your guestbook, but I would like to say that I really love the pictures in your photo album; particularly that of Korea. The colors are so vibrant and you have a great eye as well as a wonderful imagination and talent. Though I have been there once, I only stayed in Seoul, but looking at your pictures makes me want to go back and explore the countryside more.

I can't find another way to contact you... I found your photos on a Google search for archives of Korean photos. I develop exhibits for the Austin Children's Museum and we are currently working on an exhiibt about Korean culture for kids that will open here in January and then traveling nationally to 10 children's museums. We are looking for photos to use in the exhibit and think some of yours might work well. How can we go about getting permission to use the photos?

Very much surprised that my country Korea should have such beauty.
You've found the inner esthetics of things Korean , which we are prone to overlook.
Some of the pictures are the works I'd like to introduce to Korean students, who might open their eyes for the Korea-unique delicacy, if permitted.
Really amazing relealation of color combined with peculiar Korean patterns.
Thank you.

With best regards

I have to make a poster for a korean cultural center in Malaysia.
I'd like to use your pictures legally. Considering the fact that this
center isn't making any profits, and just aim at promoting the korean culture
abroad, would you accept to let me use your picture of Mugunghwa as the
raw material for this poster.

By advance for your answer, thank you.

What can I say but wow. All of your galleries give me a lot of inspiration. You certainly have an eye for Korea that not many people have. I've used a lot of your pictures as inspiration for my own. Different places in Korea, but I reference your galleries in my mind when I look for new photo opportunities. Thank you for sharing your wonderful collection.

Thanks for snapshotting the 095 news video.
I am interested in getting every picture you have in original size.
Can we get in touch over email to talk more details?
I can reveal more about me then.

John Stone 07-Feb-2003 11:40

Very sad indeed on the 095 images, but glad that no one was killed. Thanks for taking the time to post the images.

David what do you use to snhoot the pano images or do you stitch smaller images together?

All the photos are great, nice job.

Tim Davis 28-Jan-2003 04:07

I came to your site to look at the "095" pictures. Very sad... However, I had no idea you are such fantastic photographer! I looked at a lot of your pics and I am very impressed. You were always an "enigma" and continue to be. I hope someday we'll work together again. I'm bookmarking your site so I can come here often. You take care and keep at it, they are beautiful!

First time really looking at work here at this site. I didn't know your interest extended to quite this length or to this degree. I am impressed! From one artist to another........."you rock".
Jane Nuse 26-Nov-2002 20:49
Your photographs are truly beautiful. Clearly you have a close bond with the natural world. Your eye for what makes an excellent image is honed very sharp. It goes to show that you can have the best equipment in the world, but if you don't have the "eye" for what makes a good doesn't matter what camera you own.
Lovely gallery.
Best wishes,
