My wife and I spend a day and a half in Yala NP this trip. This is the first trip to Yala that I had made since my late November 2004 visit just before the Tsunami. The hotels that I use to stay at are gone so I stayed at the Yala Village - which is a very nice 4 star eco friendly hotel that survived the tsunami. The park itself is a little changed and still shows debris of the floating brush carried in by the wave. However, the animal and bird life were every bit as good - if not better. Saw 3 leopards, 2 bears, 2 tuskers and about 30 elephants in all. A very good day in the park!
