Skagway, Alaska and Carcross, Yukon Territory (Canada)

Skagway is a popular stop for cruise ships, and this once famous mining town is now a tourist town. It is the destination of the White Pass and Yukon Route narrow gauge railroad, part of the area's mining past, which now operates for tourist. Skagway is also part of the setting for Jack London's book. Since we have been to Skagway before we rented a car and drove up the White Pass to Carcross, Yukon Territory, which mimics the train's route.
