March 2004 found me once again visiting Keoladeo NP in Bharatpur, India. March is too late for many of the migratory birds – however the Painted Storks, Common & Sarus Cranes, Herons, and Bar-Headed Geese were still around. Although the waters are beginning to retreat there were still significant stretches of water. March is also the mating season for the Lapwings and Jackals. I had all my photography gear stolen in December so no 500mm lens this trip. Instead I had a new barebones outfit consisting of the a Canon EOS10D, 100-400 IS and a 1.4X multiplier – which served me quite well.
