"Attached are two VMA211 A4 pictures from our deployment to Australia in
June 1974. Operation was Kangaroo 1 (note the logo on the nose), 1st USMC
squadron to deploy to Australia since WWII. We were stationed at RAAF
Amberly, just outside of Brisbane. Stayed for a month. CO was LtCol F
Regan, a fine Marine Officer and American. I was a young SSgt (newly
promoted) and ran the Flight Equipment Shop. One of my best deployments
ever, celebrated my 1st wedding anniversary while there (alone). Would do
it again in a hearbeat".
