Oxford Canal

The Oxford Canal runs from Oxford to Coventry. Until superseded by the Grand Juntion ( now Grand Union) Canal, it was the main waterway from London to the Midlands. The first batch of photos in the gallery were taken in the summer of 2007. The middle group during December 2007 - a colder and softer light on the canal. The latter photos taken during early 2008, include Banbury, Aynho Wharf and Somerton - locations en route from Lower Heyford to Banbury.

I have a feeling we're near neighbours...though my stretch of this canal is usually at Somerton itself....I'll keep an eye out for you! ;-)
