With f/13 necessary for the flash, in theory we are a long way from the optimum for the pixel pitch of the Canon's packed 17.9 megapixels (a good working aperture, considering the f/5.6 maximum of this lens, would be f/8). But then, we need depth of field as well; ideally, f/22 would be better. And softer. Even though the Canon images have a softness to them, they also have a more refined sharp detail, as the tiny sundew-like hairs on the tomato stems show off well. Check the A350 upscaled result and it is just that touch coarser.
