Sony Carl Zeiss 16-80mm DT ZA f3.5-4.5 T* zoom

The Carl Zeiss 16-80mm for Sony Alpha is equivalent to a 24-120mm f3.5-4.5 zoom, of compact size and accepting 62mm filters. These samples were taken on two different lenses (any dated after 20th April 2007 will be on the second lens, replacing my original purchase which had zoom and focus mechanism issues). My review of the 16-80mm along with account of the minor problems (2 of 3 lenses rejected due to unexpected behaviour when focusing and zooming) appears in the Spring 2007 edition of 'Photoworld', the quarterly magazine for Minolta and Sony Alpha users - see www.photoclubalpha.com for subscription details, and downloadable PDF versions of the last three editions.

For a review of the lens, describing all my negative experiences as well as the positive side, you can go directly to 16-80 Review from Photoworld with extensive revisions
