Happy New Year 2012.jpg

No I didn't go into Sydney, struggle with the crowds and find a good position somewhere around the
harbour. I actually shot these midnight firework pictures from Channel 9's television broadcast.

It was an interesting experiment. I shot handheld at 3200 ISO. The set is HD but the images were
fairly muzzy, nonetheless, once captured. They don't look TERRIBLY bad once reduced for inclusion
in this composite picture, however. While pyrotechnics were launched up and down the harbour, most
of this action centres around the "coat hanger" (i.e. Sydney Harbour Bridge)

Incidentally I don't REALLY know how accurate the colour in this imgaes is but I didn't TOUCH the
saturation slider or any white balance controls. These are the colours direct from the camera.

Great idea and you didn't have to go out and fight the crowds.
28 minutes left to go for me. How is the new year doing David? Good I hope.

Happy New Year. Great idea, it didn't even occur to me to even try. Well done. I know some folk who went in they didn't get home until after 4 in the morning (publc transport) they said they wouldn't do it again. Your idea is much better. V
