Now I am not an expert on birds but I should very much like to photograph more of them.
I think that this is a "great egret" loitering around the weir wall on the Nepean River
at Penrith. I tried to sneak closer but it would have nothing of it and eventually took
to the air in high dudgeon.

You got close enough to get a good shot anyway; sharp detail, good colours in the feathers and beak.
