This is the bridge linking Bare Island to La Perouse. We can see past the island toward the entrance
to Botany Bay. Khan's ship in Star Trek II was named after this waterway, where the convict settlers
for New South Wales first arrived in 1788. Bare Island was developed as a fort to protect the Bay
entrance from a potential Russian invasion back in 1885.
