Gerry and I (not in picture) are at the Australian Hotel. We were last here four months ago. It was
the middle of the day. The bar was busy. People were sitting around the footpath having lunch at the
tables. We were very tired and somewhat thirsty. Now it is a little before 8:00 am. Staff are
setting up the sidewalk chairs and the bar is getting ready for the day's trade. Not all pubs
are "early openers" but this one is.

This is one of the 13 "heritage hotels" of the Rocks, which means no one is allowed to tear it down.
You can only "restore" it with permission. Only original style building materials and methods may
be used. This particular building dates from 1913 but a tavern of one kind or another occupied this
site for most of the century before that

Yep, this is the one and only Australian Hotel. Bringing back some good memories. ~V~
