This is part of the historic Denison Bridge at Bathurst. It represented a remarkable technological
achievement for the 1870s and is the second oldest metal truss bridge remaining in New South Wales.
Spanning the Macquarie River at Kelso, the antique structure is now restricted to strolling participants
and spectators moving between venues in a vast recreation park and sporting complex. Featured in
the image is a rusting disused old pipe which would have supplied water to residents and farms east
of the river. More images of the Denison Bridge appear in my PaD Review gallery.
