An interesting thing about this image is that it is only 1/4 of a frame, the lower left. I shot it with a great 20-year-old Minolta 28-135 zoom at full tele, but found I didn't like all of the detail shown, so I cropped it. The view is more like that from a 270 mm lens. One of the benefits of a full frame 24.6 megapixel camera: I haven't enjoyed this ability to enlarge since shooting Velvia 50.

This lighthouse is actually the clubhouse for Grand Bend Yacht Club, and our sailboat "Respite" is docked next to it in warmer weather. On this morning, the early cold snap had the still-unfrozen waters of Lake Huron "steaming" in the background.
