Skipton is often known as "The gateway to the Dales" and rightly so. It makes a good base for exploring the beautiful Yorkshire Dales being situated at the edge of Upper Wharfedale. With canals,an old castle, old cotton mills and a lively market it is a great place to spend a day or
to collect provisions for self-catering cottages further up the dales. These few images were taken
whilst on holiday in Grassington, Upper Wharfedale... This is market day!
oh, I miss Skipton sooo much, after leaving jolly ol Blighty back in 2005 for France.
Although we are toying with the idea of buying a narrowboat and coming home to live. Thank you for your wonderful pictures, they do in deed depict market day in Skipton. Well done
Brings back memories of growing up in the Yorkshire Dales, thanks for posting to PBase. You have some very nice (and underrated) shots in your galleries.
