These galleries contain pictures of Hampton Safari 25 river boats, originally designed as holiday hire boats and first introduced on the Norfolk Broads around 1969.
A total of 256 Hampton Safari 25s were produced between 1969 and 1982, quickly becoming a common sight on the Broads and other waterways including the Thames, the Fens and the Ouse in Yorkshire - in fact any waterway with locks wide enough for their 9'6" beam.
Most of these boats are still afloat; a few are still available for hire, but the majority are now privately owned and loved by the people who spent happy holidays on them during their heyday.
