Manhattanite

New York is both the quintessential American city and also one of the continent's most cosmopolitan of cities. Its residents, to an outsider, seem subject to continuous sturm und drang, and the only constant appears to be the need to keep moving. A resident - is she an All American or a international transplant stirred into the melting pot? - is momentarily held captive in the middle of the boulevard by a dangerous rush of traffic (and certainly not by the "Don't Walk" sign).

Love this portrait...wide angle perspective works well, and this is a well balanced image with great color tones!

A wonderful environmental portrait, Dave -- she looks at you as if she knows you. If this was just any New Yorker you confronted in the middle of Park Avenue, her gaze would be full of suspicions. Your environment is perfect -- choosing a slow shutter speed makes the traffic look even more threatening than it is.

Excellent capture of the very active city.

Looks like an American to me. Good shot, btw.
