Mt. Denali

Mount Denali (aka Mt. McKinley) stands 20,320 feet above sea level, in Denali National Park, Alaska. We were lucky to view the mountain in such clear conditions, as Denali is hidden behind clouds perhaps 85 per cent of the time during summer. This photograph was made from Stony View, a pull-out along Denali Road.

I thought I would be able to upload a photo a day of Alaska, made while my wife Kathy and I were in the state, celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. Alas, Internet connections were spotty at best most of the time, so the remainder of this PaD gallery will be a retrospective, featuring scenes from our trip.

Beautiful image! Is that you at the top? You lucked out on a clear day. Geraldine waited two weeks and it never cleared.

Denali, the "High One," is the name Athabascan native people gave the massive peak.
Truly a great image, and I like the road on the right for perspective.
