Beautiful shot -- from this perspective it looks like they just got bored and wanted to take a detour off the straight and narrow. I suppose in reality the path skirts around some hill or depression in the landscape? Very neat looking, for whatever reason.

This reminds me of something old, back when people still rode with horses and buggies?( Not sure about the spelling) Endless roads and where going far meant five miles.
