This is folk art and it's alongside Route 66, west of the community of Helendale, in the Mojave Desert of California. Photographed with backlight on a late January afternoon, 2003.
This image drew my attention in the thumbnails - it made me wonder - what made that texture of color. I love how you see translucence. It reminded me of the bottle folk art I saw along the Turquoise Trail in New Mexico: Good Fences .
