Lichfield is a small cathedral city in the central region of England. Its 3 spired cathedral is known as the 'Mother of England' and was repeatedly captured and re-captured by the Roundheads and Cavaliers during the English Civil War. Lichfield is the birthplace of Dr Samuel Johnson, writer of the dictionary. Every year a Medieval market is held around the cathedral.
