In the name of God Amen. I Daniel Howell of the State of North Carolina and County of Wayne, Planter, being weak in body though of proper mind and memory thanks be given unto God for the same, therefore calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament, that is to say principally and first of all I recommend my soull into the hand of God.

Wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give devise and dispose of the same in manner and form following, that is to say, in the first place I lend and bequeath unto my dearly beloved wife Alley Howell the lands and plantation whereon I now live, together with all the lands I own, likewise all my stock of every kind and likewise mare and all my working tools during her natural life or marriage and after her death or marriage, I give and bequeath unto my son James Howell 5 shillings,

I give and bequath to my daughter Betsy Pope 5 shillings, I give unto my daughter, Polley Pope 5 shillings and I give nto my son Daniel Howell 5 shillings and I give unto my daughter Alley Howell one feather bed and I give unto my daughter Pattey Howell one feather bed and I give unto my daughter Nancy Howell one feather bed and I give unto my son Wright Howell one horse colt to be deliver three years from this date if it lives

and I give unto my son Mager Howell 100 acres of land where I now live and the rest of my land equally divided between Wright Howell and Arthur Howell and Burriel Howell and Culling (Cullen) Howell, the property that was lent to my wife Alley Howell at her death or marriage to be divided, what remains at her death, or marriage, between Wright Howell and Alley Howell and Arthur Howell and Burriel Howell, Culling Howell, Pattey Howell and Nancy Howell. One Negro women named Ginea to be sold at public sail to pay my debts.

I Daniel Howell do by these presents appoint my son Henry Howell Executor of this my last Will and Testament and I do by these presents rattify and confirm this and no other to be my Last Will and Testament and that I do utterly revoke, disallow and make void all other wills or testaments by me made.

In witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and fix my seal the day and year above written.

Signed, sealed and proved by the said Daniel Howell to be his Last Will and Testament in presence of us.
