Launch of Shuttle Discovery STS-120 at 11:38 23rd October 2007 as seen from the end of the pier at Rotary Riverside Park, Titusville
I chose Titusville as the closest, unticketed viewing location, with a clear view to pad 39A. At 12.0 miles from Launch Pad 39A, you are not going to get great pictures but they certainly caputure the 'moment'. Most pictures have been heavily 'cropped' from the full frame however one picture 'XG9M9014' remains uncropped as a referenece of the true 400mm field of view from this location
The horror stories of massive traffic jams both before and after proved unfounded on this occasion and I had a fairly painless drive back to Orlando
