Frew Mill, PA

Some days I just get lucky. I had the day off and the weather was simply perfect for late autumn. I decided to spend some time doing something I used to love to do all the time. I went fishing! I spent hours just drowning worms along the banks of Slippery Rock Creek. I especially enjoyed sitting at a place my buddies and I call “chair rock.” Basically it’s a water worn stone that is perched over a great fishing hole that is shaped just like a sofa and fits two people. I cannot tell you how centering it was to sit there for hours and thinking about all the good things in my life.

After all this I joined up with my father and his old friend and did more fishing from a boat. That too was a lot of fun and I enjoyed listening to the two of them crack jokes.

Oh, not a single fish was caught all day…

This picture is really neat. How the forground is green and slowly changes to fall colours in the background. A wind of change is afoot!

Most of the green in the photo is from hemlocks, the state tree, which is an evergreen.

It is still green. Western Pennsylvania doesn't have a peak autumn this year. But the only red&yellow color in your pic pops out.
