I realized that I haven’t been up the invertebrate zoology department to shoot anything for a while so headed there during lunch. This is one of my favorite departments to shoot in as they are super friendly and very helpful, pulling all kinds of stuff out of drawers for me to shoot. I think I need to invest in some Kenko extension tubes and perhaps even a micro-flash ring. I find it difficult to shoot the images I see in my head with the lenses I have as far as macro work goes. Anyway, these were some specimens in a box that I shot as I was about to leave, and as usual, the unexpected photo that I didn’t do a lot to trying to shoot it is the one I like the best. I’ll try to find out what these are and add the info later.

I noticed you mentioned getting extension tubes. I recently decided to go for the 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM lens, and it is a much better choice. You zoom in by focusing closer to the lens with the macro lenses, but it's amazing how small you can go without losing focus at infinity also.

Excellent! I thought it was great when I first viewed the medium size, but then I clicked on original size... amazing!!

The thumbnail had me fooled. It looked like a PS repetition. I like the crop also. Great photo.

I like the repetition. So similar to each other with such subtle variation.
