Yellow-Flowers

Lake Eyasi, Tanzania

Gigali and Nyoha in a typical days foraging trip in which they would shoot any animal they could (except Elephants)but where more interested in their primary food in the wet season....Honey. The axe was mightier than the bow when the Hadza would give up on a Giraffe to go after African Killer Bee Honey (not so fierce as was said), another smaller Honey Bee or the honey from Sweat Bees (really not a bee but a type of fly).

The Hadza would often use Honey Birds which would chatter and respond to whistling and actually led us to a bee hive. When we hit a large African Bee hive, you would get up to 1 pound of honey comb thrust in your hands to eat, and later spit out the wax.

The grubs were not bad either, like sweet corn.
