Stock 5 degree and 15 degree collimator beam pattern

Stock 5 degree and 15 degree collimator beam pattern

This image shows the beam pattern of the stock collimators supplied with the StenLight S7 (a 5 degree and 15 degree). Note the darkened donut shaped shadow surrounding the spot beam. It is caused by the optical effects of the 5 dgeree spot collimator. This only manifested itself during my initial trial of the lamp; it became less evident as my brain adjusted to it. Note that the off-collimation is caused by the lamp not being parallel to the screen I was aiming the camera at. Additional collimators, such as the L2 Optics, can easily be dropped in, thereby customizing the beam pattern. They are available at www.ledsupply.com. They must be the L2-OP style.

Be advised these screen shots were made by a rear projection technique. The lamp was approximately 1 foot behind the screen and the camera about three feet in front. They are only meant to show beam pattern and artifacts.
