|Photos of the fundraiser for "Skills to Save Lives". This program attempts to respond to the need to reduce death and illness among women living in rural Nicaragua by introducing the role of the Mentor. The mentor is a nurse working out of the health
center corresponding to the communities of the midwives/health workers in the Pilot Project.
“The health care system in Nicaragua has improved greatly, yet poor women continue to die as a result of preventable illness during pregnancy and giving birth. Our work assists those at the forefront of rural health care: Traditional Midwives and Community Health Workers” ~Dorothy Granada
