Sitting on a bench I turned my head around and saw a bird so colorful it didn't seem real. By the time I swtiched lenses it was gone.
I looked around hoping to see it again but it had flew into a dense tree. My first western tanager.

Great shot!! It was interesting that I ran across this picture. My daughter and I spotted a pair by our house the other day but had know idea what they were. We have never seen this type before in here in Washington State.
