Jatiluwih.

This area is a Unesco’s World Heritage site for its landscape and its system of "Subak" (cooperative social system that controls water).

"Rice is considered a gift from God and Subak System is part of the culture of temples. Water sources and channels flow through the temples and the rice paddies. The water temples are at the center of the cooperative management of water resources by a group of Subak. Since the eleventh century, the network of water temples manage the ecology of rice terraces at the scale of entire watersheds. They bring a unique response to the challenge of feeding a dense population living on a volcanic island rugged.
The Subak System illustrates the Balinese philosophy of Tri Hita Karana principle which unites the areas of mind, the human world and nature. Rituals of water temples promote the harmonious relationship between man and his environment through the active involvement of the population in rituals concepts that focus on the dependence of the vital forces of the natural world ". (UNESCO)
