I didn't stop for photos on the last day - too much fun riding! I left early, so it was before sunrise on the boring ride from Grand Junction to Delta. After a quick breakfast in Delta, I headed east on 92 to Hotchkiss, then took 133 to Carbondale. Cresting McClure pass early on a September morning was COLD. But, the road from Hotchkiss to Carbondale was a fantastic, beautiful ride.
From Carbondale, I headed north to Glenwood Springs, then a short distance east on I-70 to highway 131. From there, north to Toponas, the road was superb. With almost no traffic, great pavement, and lots of hills, twists, and turns, it was really fun.
Highway 134 east to highway 40 over Gore Pass was a nice ride, too. There were lots of aspen trees on the virge of changing colors (hadn't started changing yet, unfortunately).
From there I retraced my initial route from home, through Granby and over Trail Ridge. Trail Ridge was very busy for a Monday, with many people enjoying the view while driving 20 mph (argh!).
The total for this ride was about 380 miles, making a grand total of 1200 miles in three days of riding.
