"Es ist ein Arschloch, Maria!" and other (Anti?)-Christians blasphemies...

These are some pages from a comic book which was fairly successful in Germany in 1992. I post this here to point out, that not all Western Christians might have enjoyed it, but they didn't call for the head of the author. They certainly did not burn down the publishing house! It was published, I had a good laugh, some people didn't, and we all went on with our lives.

I just rearranged my memory, and I too can remember now, that those were out long before 1999. Actually the first came out 1992, the second (Du bist ein Arschloch, mein Sohn) in 1995.
The edition I linked to, sold in Amazon, was published in 1999, that's how I came up with the year...

Really well thought out comments here..mostly. I especially liked Salman's but keep trying to be funny and sooner of later even the sourest of our brothers will succumb to laughter.

some christians would get offended by these comics, just like how some muslims(or shall i say many) would get offended by the muhammad cartoons. but i guess we cannot put both side by side and compare(muslims and christians) because christianity is not as strict in its prohibition of these kinds of images. islam on the other hand is quite strict and rigid(as you all know :P)

but muslims who are offended, should do the islamic thing. and that is....not get emotional. there are many verses of the qur'an that talks about how muslims should not get emotional.

so yea, i think muslims ourselves need to look into our own beliefs, before burning flags, killing people and blindly following fatwas.

i'm a muslims and i was the one who posted the last comment on the muhammad's caricatures. by the way, you got nice pictures of your trips! :)

We respect our elders and so our elders told us to repect our prophet as well. If you guys do not find it offensice thats ok but belive me I am offended with these picture although I am not a christian (but a muslim) but still because we believe in Christ too so we have respect for him too just as we have for our Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

All of these are funny. i am a catholic and i dont find these offensive. I wish more people would have a sense of humor, dont they realize what satire is??
