In the late sixties I purchased two of Mr. Dunn's paintings. One is a field of yellow daisies with an old wooden shack the other is a beautiful sailboat in a storm. Both are 49"x27". I am having to scale down and need to sell both of them. I have no idea what they are worth.

I have the following Dan Dunn oil painting:"Forgotten Time and Place" Scene of broken wagon (foreground), field, and white house in background. Dreary weather. Approx 44"w x 30"h. I found this web page attempting to research the value of this painting, because I want to sell it.

My father started collecting Dan's painting 25 years ago. I recently bought one of his older paintings at a antique auction in Pensacola, Florida. On the back is written DAN DUNN 4222 WEST GAFFNEY ST. PENSACOLA, FLORIDA. I am originally from St. Simons Island, Ga. My father lived there. I didn't know that your father was from Pensacola. Using the address I mentioned, could you please tell me when the painting was painted. Cordially, Carole

Thanks, Dan, for your kind remark on one of our avian photos. We're new to pbase and are grateful for the encouragement. I enjoyed looking through your galleries, especially the Pacific Northwest photos. We were visiting there a couple years ago, and though it wasn't quite as memorable as your trip to Mars, we did get enough photos with our Canon G5 to put together a Pacific Northwest gallery. Thanks again, Larry

Hi Dan. Thanks for stopping by and commenting (This Island Earth). I was three years older when I saw it. Something about that movie left a lasting impression. It definitely (for me) had an eerie, otherworldly "feel". They finally released an affordable DVD recently.

Hi Mr. Dunn - Just a question. We are wondering if you are the same Dan Dunn that does wonderful paintings. We purchased one of your paintings probably 35 (?) years ago and absolutely love it. It is a fishing boat and is titled "All Lines Out". At the time we lived in Oregon and had a place at Gleneden Beach. Twenty years ago my husband was transferred to Georgia and we have Oregon in our sights again for retirement. Anyway have had the painting long enough that we feel the need to have it cleaned - plus we were smokers up until about 8 or so years ago. It is a beautiful painting and we don't want to take a chance and have it ruined. By the way do you still paint?

Looking forward to hearing from you>

I have a painting my father left me by Dan Dunn '62 - it is a houseboat in a jungle like setting. I was curious if it is your painting - it is very different in style, much looser, than other paintings I found under your name on the net. I also have a second painting he left of a sunset over the sea, very spiritual looking - I think it is also yours. Again he bought this in Florida during the early to mid-60's The houseboat is framed with driftwood. Thanks for getting back to me.

The shot of the sunlight through the waves is awesome. A textbook example of "style",,,color, shape line, texture and value. I'm jealous and envious.

Dan, found your galleries serendipidously and spent a good amount of time perusing, as I made the trip down I-5 this weekend from Seattle to Portland and was taken by many of the same sights that evidently impressed themselves upon you. You've got a good eye my friend. Some interesting stuff and great images. You've captured a good amount of life in some otherwise lifeless objects. Too many to comment on, but I will say that "Short Flight" in the Canon Pro 1 gallery is a perfectly timed and perfectly framed masterpiece. Well done. - Brandon
