Hello David,

May I ask a strange question? Have you got family which originaly came from the Netherlands to live in Canada? I found your site because I was looking on the web for people the name Van Unen. I'm interested in the name Van Unen, it's very rare as you might already know.

Greetings from The Netherlands

Hi David, I live in Spirit River, Alberta, and I have had the pleasure of visiting quite a few of the same locations and am pleased to have the rest of the world able to see how beautiful western Canada is. It's not just about Jasper and Banff. I have a river boat and have viewed the Kinuso falls from below and they are quite a spectacle when you come around that last corner of the river. I have also been up and down the Peace and Wapiti rivers and just love the scenery. Keep up the good photography and I hope to see more new ones soon.

Hello David, really enjoyed going throught the site and loking at all the beautiful pics. Fanatastic.

My brother had mentioned that you had taken some of our homestead just north of Bear Lake Alberta, but I couldn't find them on the site.

I would love to see them, how can I look at them.

Hello David, would you please re-email me. Through computer problems, I don't have your last message. I would appreciate it. Do you only take your photos with digital camera? Or do you use film?

Thanks.

Hello David, I was looking online to research a photograph given to me by my sister, of a great grey owl. It was taken by someone named "Taylor" (don't know first name). However, I was fortunate enough to find your photos (owl hunting rabbit)! Wow, they are wonderful. Especially the last one in the collection of the owl on snow covered trees (look like aspen or poplar). Is there any way I could purchase that photo (signed of course)?

Thanks, I'm a Canadian living in Knoxville, Tennessee and it's so good to see Canadian talent. My sister, Barbara Jordan is also a photographer/producer living in Ontario.

Hope to hear from you.

Hello and thank you for the nice comment in my guestbook!

To answer your question regarding my watermark: The actual shape design I had created a long while ago using MS Word, as a logo for a since given up on business venture. I used that design to create a custom brush in photoshop, and paint the signature on it's own layer, so that the layer properties can be changed, applying bevel/emboss and drop shadow. I created an action to do this, so it's only a 2 step process. Here is a link to a sililar tutorial on how to do this, which explains it better deatail than I could attemp... ;?)

David, I came across your photo gallery page in my search for a picture of a dam. I am a training coordinator for the paper industry and am organizing a course on energy efficiency and was looking for a visual picture that visualizes "energy" -- hence I thought a dam and hence my search. I would like to use one or two of your pictures of PeaceCanyon and Bennet Dams in our publicity brochure. As our cours will be held in Prince George, I thought a picture of a dam in BC was particularly appropriate.

May I use your pictures for this one-time only? I would obviously credit as to where the pictures were obtained from (All images Are Copyright © David J. van Unen).

Thank you for a quick reply.

Sincerely,

Carmie Lato

How right you are as to where Smithers is. The blue and Red Virgin Marys are taken in the Telkwa Pass. It is a mountian pass that goes between Telkwa and Terrace. You need a 4by ,horse or hike 27k to get to the statue.
