There are many established populations of Monk Parakeets around the state. They most likely started out from escaped pets that now have developed into wild colonies. This particular bird was part of a wild colony in Kemah, TX

I wonder if this little guy escaped from an owner. He has full wings though. I own one -- lovely little social bird and quite a talker. Quaker Parrot of Montgomery, Texas
