It’s hard to believe that Great Egret was at one time an endangered species, what a terrible loss it would be to not have them around. I find that I often take them for granted when I am wandering around the Texas coast looking for birds. They seem to be everywhere. What beautiful and graceful birds they are. A couple of days ago I was able to spend the afternoon at High Island and I was quickly reminded what treasures these birds truly are.
