This female Barred Antshrike was trailing behind her mate in Cano Negro Wildlife Refuge during our visit to Costa Rica earlier this month. The Barred Antshrike has a very distinctive call which makes them fairly easy to detect though seeing them is a bit more challenging. I also found it interesting that both the males and females often call in a duet.
