One of the birds that I was most impressed with during our Pantanal trip was the Nacunda Nighthawk. I’m used to seeing Common Nighthawks at home during the summer but the Nacunda Nighthawk really got my attention with its large size. This first one I saw took me completely by surprise when it exploded off the ground, almost underfoot.
