Megascops cooperi

This Pacific Screech Owl was photographed on our Costa Rica trip last October. It was amusing because the bird was actually sitting right out in the open in the middle of the day and some of us had a very difficult time spotting him, possibly due to excess excitement. I think everyone loves seeing owls!
