Least Tern

Texas

Sternula antillarum

Over the past few days I have had a few opportunities to photograph Least Terns, mostly in Texas City. I found them to be a great subject to test out the AF system of my new 80D camera since they are fairly small and they fly quite erratically. In the past I have found them to be fairly challenging subjects so I was very pleased with the fact that the 80D could track them VERY well. Basically if I could keep the bird in the AF area (I used all 45 AF points most of the time) the AF system would rarely miss-focus even on shots with “busy” backgrounds like this one.
